Q3 Quality Priorities for 2026
Date: 08/21/26
As we enter the third quarter of 2026, we want to take a moment to thank you, our provider partners, for your continued commitment to delivering high-quality care to our members.
The first half of the year has brought many opportunities to improve preventive care, close quality gaps, and support better health outcomes across Arkansas. Thanks to your dedication, our members have received important screenings, annual preventive visits, chronic condition management, and follow-up care that has improved their overall health and well-being.
With six months remaining in the measurement year, now is the time to focus on opportunities that can make the greatest impact.
Key Areas of Focus for Q3
Annual Preventive Visits (APV)
Preventive visits remain one of the most effective ways to identify care gaps and engage members in their healthcare journey. Practices are encouraged to review outreach efforts and prioritize scheduling members who have not yet completed an Annual Preventive Visit for the year.
CPT® II Coding Opportunities
Accurate CPT II coding helps ensure providers receive credit for the care they deliver. Capturing results through CPT II codes can reduce the need for retrospective chart review while supporting quality measure performance. Key measures where CPT II coding can have significant impact include:
Glycemic status assessment (GSD/A1C)
Controlling high blood pressure (CBP)
Kidney health evaluation for patients with diabetes (KED)
Care for older adults (COA)
Focus on Triple-Weighted Measures
A limited number of quality measures carry a greater impact on overall quality performance. For many organizations, GSD/A1C and CBP continue to represent important opportunities to improve outcomes and ensure members receive evidence-based care.
Transitions of Care (TRC)
As members move between inpatient and outpatient settings, timely follow-up and documentation remain critical. Maintaining strong processes for transitional care can help improve continuity of care and reduce avoidable complications.
Small Actions That Create Big Results
Confirming preventive services are up to date
Documenting completed screenings and assessments
Capturing appropriate CPT II codes
Addressing chronic condition management opportunities
Scheduling necessary follow-up appointments before the patient leaves the office
Thank You for Your Partnership
Our shared goal is simple: to deliver the highest quality of care possible while improving the health of the communities we serve.
We appreciate your continued partnership and commitment to excellence. Together, we can make the second half of 2026 our strongest yet.
